Blattner Energy interns aren’t filling their days with mindless or menial tasks. Our internship program is fueled by hands-on training. Immersive opportunities challenge and establish technical expertise while a mentorship component fosters leadership skill development.

We are powering the renewable energy professionals of the future! It’s always a joy to meet with college students and share what makes working at Blattner great. Twice each year, we travel the country to colleges and universities to participate in career fairs.

Energy internship questions.

When do you offer internships?

We offer internships during the summer (June, July and August).

How long do Blattner Energy internships last?

They are typically three months long with flexible end dates. We’re happy to accommodate academic calendars.

Do I need to be a full-time student to apply?

Yes, you must be a full-time student to intern with us. Our interns are generally juniors or seniors who are in the process of obtaining a four-year degree in construction management, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, occupational health/safety or a related field.

How many interns does Blattner Energy accept?

We accept up to 50+ qualified interns per season. We seek bright and enthusiastic students who are willing to work hard, develop their skills and knowledge and help contribute to the overall success of our projects.

Are Blattner Energy internships paid?

Yes, our internships are paid. We also reimburse lodging expenses as well as one-time mileage to and from your project site.

Can my internship be taken for course credit?

Yes, many students apply their internship with Blattner Energy towards course credit, although this is not required. If you are interning with us for credit, we’re happy to work within the guidelines of your school by completing any necessary paperwork, progress reports, evaluations, etc.

What can I expect during my internship experience?

You’ll receive hands-on training and mentoring from experienced professionals who have loads of knowledge to share. But they’ve also got jobs to do. So, we’ll expect you to dive in, contribute your ideas and enthusiasm and work hard to help the team succeed. In the end, you’ll have improved your technical skills, leadership abilities and problem-solving skills in real project situations.

Will I have an opportunity to be hired as a full-time employee?

Our internships provide a chance for us to get to know each other. If you demonstrate talent and potential, and, most importantly, if you enjoy and succeed in our team-oriented culture, we’ll ask you to consider joining us as a full-time employee after graduation. Although our offers are limited by position availability, many of our interns are asked to stay with us full time.
