Blattner Energy, a power generation contractor and leading provider of renewable energy construction in North America, announced the opening of Blattner Energy Puerto Rico, LLC in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The company’s expertise in renewable energy construction will support Puerto Rico’s shift from costly, imported fossil fuels to clean energy. Blattner Energy Puerto Rico will serve as the hub of Blattner Energy’s solar and wind power installations across the island. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blattner Energy, Inc.

Blattner Energy brings more than 100 years of experience to the Puerto Rican market, including more megawatts of renewable energy installations than any other engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in North America. Utilities and developers exploring the Puerto Rican marketplace now have an experienced EPC partner that understands the process, permitting and financial requirements of renewable energy projects, thereby removing much of the uncertainty surrounding construction. Just as important, Blattner Energy will play a key role in providing much-needed jobs to Puerto Rico’s under-employed labor force.

“We are committed to supporting the growth of solar and wind energy in Puerto Rico,” said Scott Blattner, president, Blattner Energy. “We have developed relationships with local utilities, government officials and contractors, and the feedback and interest we have received has been very positive and encouraging. We understand the unique considerations of the market and we are committed to providing the highest level of quality, reliability and safety for our customers there.”

The company currently has several active solar projects in Puerto Rico. It attributes its success and growth to its employees’ commitment to providing the best project management expertise, quality construction and innovative solutions.
