Address at WINDPOWER ’16 by Steve Quade

Steve Quade, principal engineer for Blattner Energy will speak to wind energy professionals at WINDPOWER 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He will share his experience and insight on the future increases of wind penetration impacts and solutions to coordinate and manage the associated complexities. Steve will speak at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 25th in the Power Station room on “LD or COD? – Interconnecting Wind Generation Successfully as Renewable Penetration Increases,” and invites colleagues in the industry to join the discussion.

Wind generation is increasingly penetrating the utility markets. As an expert on interconnecting wind generation successfully, Steve Quade will focus on high side solutions and low side management of existing power system assets to improve a wind generation facility’s commercial return. He will also review modeling and unique techniques that were employed at two different projects.

A University of St. Thomas alumnus with a master’s degree and an electrical engineering degree from Iowa State University, Steven Quade has a diverse experience ranging from working for utilities to project management companies.
