Solar Project

5-MW CPV Solar Array

Hatch Solar Energy Center

Spanning 39 acres in the Southwest United States, the 5-MW solar array consists of 84 concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) machines on a ground mounted, dual-axis tracking system. Upon completion, this solar energy center was the largest CPV project in North America.

Blattner Energy’s scope of work on the project included: site development and earthwork; foundation installation; module installation including dual-axis tracking system, mega modules, and controls; installation of the underground collection system; installation of the communication network (SCADA), substation construction; and construction of the operations and maintenance buildings.
